Registered Massage Therapy
The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of dysfunction, injury, pain and physical disorders of the soft tissues and joints by manual and physical methods to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function to relieve pain and promote health.
What you can expect during an initial treatment:
-One on one personalized health care with a Registered Massage Therapist
-Health history gathering to determine the best treatment for you
-Assessment either standing, sitting or laying down that may include postural, joint and soft tissue evaluation
-Hands on treatment (techniques used are specific to each therapist's training and preference)
-Homecare exercises and hydrotherapy advice may be provided
Pre Registered Massage
Pre-registered massage is offered at a reduced price, and is not billable to extended health plans. It is a great alternative for those without benefits, or when insurance runs out. Each session begins with a short assessment to understand your unique concerns and tailor the treatment to your specific goals. Using a blend of manual techniques, pre-registered massage is supportive in reducing chronic pain, stress, and tension, recovering from injury, returning to activity, and improving strength, stability, ease and energy.
KMI Structural Integration
with Katherine Donovan, RMT
The design of KMI is to unwind the strain patterns residing in your body’s locomotors system, restoring it to its natural balance, alignment, length, and ease. Common strain patterns come about from inefficient movement habits, and our body’s response to poorly designed cars, desks, telephones, and airplanes, etc. Individual strain patterns can come from the invasions of injury or surgery or birth, and from our body’s response to traumatic episodes. As well, gestures can become a habit, which becomes a posture and eventually lodges in our structure. KMI is designed to unwind this process and reduce structural stress. The method depends on a unique property of the body’s connective tissue network.
The basic KMI 12 series creates the foundation and adaptability to change. It guides the client session by session to a higher level of body awareness and healthy states, naturally healing one's self.
If you are new to KMI Structural Integration or have never done a Structural session, we strongly recommend doing the basic 12 session series.

Acupuncture
with Denise Currie, RMT, RAc
Acupuncture involves the placement of very small needles into specific spots on the body in order to stimulate certain physiological processes. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is typically almost-painless and often a relaxing experience. The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture to be effective for over 300 conditions including pain, insomnia, digestive disorders, and hormonal imbalances.
5th Year Student Osteopathy Manual Therapy
with Michelle Coish
Osteopathic manual therapy is a comprehensive approach that gently mobilizes joints, fascia, muscles, internal organs, and cranial membranes to ease pain and restrictions within the body, while enhancing overall wellness. The primary objective of this therapy is to address the root cause of any pain or discomfort you may be experiencing, facilitating the body's natural ability to self-regulate and heal. This treatment is suitable for individuals with a range of conditions, including neck or back pain, migraines/headaches, history of concussions, joint/muscle pain, sports injuries, injuries sustained from car accidents, women's health concerns, children and babies, and digestive issues
Therapeutic Yoga
with Carissa Alexander
Therapeutic yoga is a holistic approach to: reducing chronic pain and tension, recovering or adapting to illness or injury, becoming more responsive and resilient under stress, returning to activity, improving strength, stability, ease and energy. By exploring exercises that support the varying systems and dimensions of health within your body-mind, yoga therapy assists in facilitating the body’s innate ability to regulate and heal.
Each session begins with a short assessment to understand your unique concerns and create an individualized treatment that aligns with your specific goals. From there practices include a combination of therapeutic touch, movement, breath and stillness, some of which may be familiar if you have ever attended a yoga class. Depending on mobility, sessions can be designed to take place on a yoga mat, chair, or massage table, and include a variety of props for additional comfort. Please wear clothes that you are comfortable moving in.
